I love Art, no matter what form it takes. I love it even more when I am able to share that passion with others. I draw because I am inspired, so that I can possibly inspire others to express themselves in a different way...starting with a piece of paper and a pencil

Happy birthday!

Thank you so much!!

Okay, I just want to say I really like your art style. It inspired my own. I would love your advice!

Hello, and I appreciate the feedback! Thank you, and I am flattered to be an inspiration to you and your art style. I have never been good at teaching art, but I'll try to give you advice that has helped me.

First and foremost practice makes perfect. I know it's cliche, but I kid you not, it is the key to success. While some people don't really have the time, drawing constantly trains your mind and sharpens your focus, also improving your mental capacity and creates adaptability. For art is a fickle thing, while I'm a strong believer that anyone can draw, like it or not it takes dedication and constant practice.

Practice also encompasses the aspect that you are bound to make mistakes, but you have to learn from it and improve so not to make the mistake again. As you improve and learn, you even realize that the image you are creating should not be dictated by the opinions of others. It is your style, shape it to your comfort and versatility. Believe it or not I started artwork when I was six drawing horses, inspired by my father who was a great artist in his own right, but just never had the time to pursue the career since he had kids. He encouraged me as a young girl to take up art as a passion, and ever since then I have not stopped. From that, horses became stick figures, then to blobs with crab hands, and slowly but surely, a human looking body. It took a lot of practice, time, and critique to get me where I am today. Don't be shy with using references, but at the same time, accept that the world and other people are full with ideas that while may be similar to yours, it's up to you to try and make a character or creation that stands out to you. Something unique, something only you the beholder can appreciate for it is your muse, your piece, your art baby. I hope that advice helps you as it helped me, but if you're looking for more specific advice, feel free to ask!

Do you have advice for coloring?

I do, at least traditionally wise. if you're going to color something whether it be colored pencil or marker, be sure to have a paper on the side to test out colors and blending. Don't be afraid to experiment with different palettes and combinations, and if you are coloring a character and want them to stand out, think of a color palette that is not only aesthetically pleasing but that whenever you look at it you think of your character.
